Many struggle with stress due to everyday life pressures, which can lead to serious health problems. What are some simple ways to relieve stress and anxiety? Doctor and nutritionist Elvira Fisenko shared her insights on a medical talk show on Russian television.
"Some people experience chronic stress, which can lead them to serious ailments, such as stomach ulcers, arterial hypertension, and symptoms of respiratory tract stenosis. However, there are simple ways to help reduce stress symptoms," noted Elvira.
She emphasized that one of the best ways to combat stress is engaging in sports. Physical activity reduces the production of the stress hormone cortisol and stimulates the production of endorphins in the body, which are known as the body's happiness hormones.
Focusing on a positive approach to daily life situations, she also mentioned that a 5-minute laughter session provides the body and nervous system benefits equivalent to 30-40 minutes of rest. Laughter improves the functioning of both the nervous and digestive systems of the body.
Among other ways to combat stress, the doctor also recommended changing the environment, which we encounter daily. Changing the layout of furniture at home from time to time, for instance, can provide a sense of psychological comfort.
Fisenko strongly recommends supplementing the body with B vitamins, which improve the health of the nervous system. She also pointed out that many foods, such as bananas, whole grain bread, lean meat, and fish, contain high levels of these vitamins.
