Artist Uses Creative Costumes Inspired by Famous Paintings

Lisa accidentally discovered the power of theatrical makeup in her art and has since used it to transform into heroines from famous paintings. Even in the most exhausting moments, such as during the renovation of her apartment or her days as a Red Cross volunteer, she found in this activity a form of escape.

For three years, Lisa has copied 420 works by various artists, challenging herself to recreate one painting a day for a month, which eventually extended to a whole year. Using unconventional materials such as curtains, scarves, and sheets instead of period costumes, she has created impressive outfits, like puffed sleeves made from trash bags.

Despite the challenges and fatigue, Lisa found salvation in this hobby. By publishing her work on social media, she even caught the attention of a Japanese magazine. With ingenuity and creativity, she has managed to recreate historical costumes using everyday objects like aluminum foil cones and ten-penny coins.

Committed to her creativity, Lisa avoids taking shortcuts by renting prefabricated costumes, preferring to rely on her skills. Every detail is important to her, such as discovering that trash bags maintain the desired shape for her creations. Her imagination knows no bounds, and she especially enjoys remembering artists who deserve to be acknowledged through her unique and personal art.

Although the process can be laborious and requires patience, Lisa fully dedicates herself to her passion, regardless of the circumstances. Armed with her phone, an ironing board, and a shoebox, she manages to take the necessary photos to accurately capture her amazing transformations. With determination and creativity, Lisa demonstrates that art and fashion can merge in a unique and remarkable way.
