According to the Kremlin, it was announced on Monday that an American who had been detained for a short time at Moscow Airport after being accused of planning to visit Russia was let go.
A Kremlin representative stated: "This person was rather uninformed than detained. He was made aware that he did not have permission to enter Russia, after which he left the country."
The press service of the US Embassy in Moscow declined to comment on this case.
