Putin praises Syrian president's efforts to restore territorial unity

Russian President Vladimir Putin praised on Wednesday the increasing efforts of Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa to restore the unity of Syrian territories. During their meeting in the Kremlin, Putin said to al-Sharaa: "I would like to congratulate you on the progress made in the process of restoring the unity of Syrian territories." In turn, al-Sharaa thanked Putin for his assistance in seeking to stabilize the situation in Syria and the region. This is the second visit of the Syrian president to Moscow since 2024.
