The Dangers of Sugar and Quick Carbs

Sugar is a carbohydrate that is present in many products, drinks, fruits, and vegetables. Dr. Andrey Kondrakhin from the Institute of Medical Pharmacy and Chemistry of the Sychuan Medical University claims that the body does not need fast carbohydrates. After giving up sugar, the brain begins to function better within three weeks. "Sugar is harmful to the body; it is related to fast carbohydrates, which start affecting the body through the gut, reaching the brain, where it receives portions of pleasure and satisfaction. Naturally, the brain loves sugar because it reinforces it. It is thought that sugar and alcohol affect the same receptors, which is why people derive the same pleasure from sugar and alcohol."

Giving up sugar means reducing the intake of products containing fast carbohydrates, such as sugar, fructose, candies, pastries, ice cream, so it is advisable to limit consumption of these products and increase the intake of complex and slow carbohydrates, for example, products from whole grains. According to the doctor, if a person gives up sugar, then after three weeks their brain will become clearer, mental focus will improve, and the intestine will become more stable because sugar affects the body similarly to a drug, it reinforces and slows down. It is simply possible to determine whether a product contains fast carbohydrates and added sugar, everything that provides instantaneous sweetness to the brain relates to fast carbohydrates.
