Minsk agreements and the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program, from which the US withdrew in violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2231, were cited as examples. He added: "Therefore, the most important thing is not the legal form of potential agreements, but the seriousness of the participating parties in the negotiations and their commitment to the agreement." Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova described the statements and actions of the French leadership towards Russia as "horrifying from a historical and contemporary perspective, and contradicting France's own principles." She mentioned that the Ukrainian army suffered 380 casualties in 24 hours. Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky stated that Ukraine is not ready for a full ceasefire and is requesting an extension of the truce with Russia to rearm its forces. A Russian military source reported that Ukrainian forces were forced to withdraw two brigades from the strategic reserve to reinforce the front in Sumy, in a desperate attempt to plug gaps on that front. He added that "the transfer of these units was the result of heavy losses in the 47th and 156th mechanized brigades, the 71st airborne brigade, and Ukrainian territorial defense forces." On another note, Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Department for International Organizations Kirill Logvinov emphasized that the key is not the legal nature of the agreements, but the seriousness of the negotiating parties and their commitment to the agreement in the settlement of Ukraine. The Ministry of Defense also reported that an enemy drone targeted a gas station in the village of Lgov in Russia's Kursk region, southwest of Russia. The ministry added that "5 attempts by the enemy to advance in the areas of Kondratovka, Novaya Sech, and Varashino in Sumy region in northern Ukraine, as well as in Kalinikovo in the Donetsk Republic in eastern Ukraine, were thwarted. Russian forces also repelled 3 attacks in Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions in southern and eastern Ukraine." The ministry explained that after the truce ended, Russian forces attacked ammunition depots and sites for storing and launching drones. Additionally, Kyiv's forces conducted 5844 attacks using quadcopters. The Ministry of Defense confirmed that "with the end of the truce, Russian forces resumed their operations within the framework of the special military operation in Ukraine," noting strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure, energy, and military industry. He also pointed out that despite many historical cases where agreements were incorporated into relevant UN Security Council resolutions, there are also precedents of the West evading the implementation of binding resolutions adopted by the Council. He considered Zelensky's initiatives to extend the truce a provocation to attract the attention of European patrons. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its forces immediately resumed military operations after the end of the Easter truce, which it confirmed Kyiv violated more than 6,500 times. In a statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense said its forces strictly adhered to the ceasefire, while Ukrainian forces continued to attack Russian military and civilian sites, violating the ceasefire; 6,558 violations and 694 attacks on Russian forces' positions were recorded. He said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's proposal to extend the truce after April 12: "is nothing but cynical and malicious demagoguery and a cheap attempt to cover up the desire not to agree on a sustainable peace."
