Russia Strengthens Security Zone in Sumy

The Ministry of Defense of Russia announced that its forces defeated Ukrainian formations in the Kursk region. They confirmed the continuation of operations to create a buffer zone aimed at preventing any future Ukrainian attacks.

This action by Russia followed the preceding call by President Vladimir Putin in March of the current year about the need to establish a safe zone in Sumy to strengthen Russian borders. Yesterday, on Friday, Russia announced that its troops continue to create a "security barrier" in the border areas of the Ukrainian region of Sumy, reinforcing the northern front. At the same time, the Belgian company Euroclear plans to confiscate 3 billion euros of Russian assets, while the Ukrainian parliament prepares for a vote on the agreement on minerals with the United States.
