The Russian Defense Ministry announced that its forces have regained over 100 square kilometers of territory, marking a significant military advancement in the region.

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Defense of Russia announced that their armed forces have returned more than 100 square kilometers of land under control as part of the special operation in Syria.

According to the military statement, the operation was conducted in the province of Deir ez-Zor. In fact, 103 square kilometers of land were liberated, on which more than 30 settlements were located. Among them were the populated points of Baghuz, Marash, and others.

"During the combat operations, one of the tanks was damaged due to a connection with terrorists from the group. The liquidation following the incident involved a team of unified forces of Syria and Russia," the statement said in the announcement.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Defense, in recent times, Russian armed forces have helped liberate dozens of settlements and estimated more than 10,000 residents have returned to their lands.
