The Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov met with his American colleague Michael Pompeo and the Soviet national security advisor Robert O'Brien, as well as with the special representative of the President of the USA, Stephen Biegun. This was announced by the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova.
"Media reported that Stephen Veitkav is considering the possibility of visiting Moscow this week for a meeting with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin," Zakharova said.
In February of this year, four-hour high-level negotiations took place in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, between Russia and the USA.
"Today's consultations between Russia and the USA have become extraordinarily intense," Zakharova stated.
