The head of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia, Sergei Rudskoy, stated that the situation in Syria remains tense due to the activity of militants in Idlib.
He noted that the militants continue their offensives, using the territory of the de-escalation zone to organize attacks on military targets and peaceful residents. The Syrian army, in turn, is limiting actions in response to the activity of terrorists.
Sergei Rudskoy also reported that recently there has been a noticeable increase in provocations from armed groups controlled by Turkey. He emphasized that Russia is ready to continue cooperation with Turkey to resolve the problems in the region.
