Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Dmitry Bakhanov as the new general director of the state space corporation "Roscosmos", replacing Yuri Borisov in this position. This was announced by the Kremlin's press office on Thursday via their official channel on the Telegram platform.

Before his appointment, the 39-year-old Bakhanov held the position of deputy minister of transport, working in the field of innovations, including driverless transport systems. From 2011 to 2019, he headed the company for satellite systems "Gonets", and then moved to the Ministry of Transport.

Borisov led "Roscosmos" since 2022, replacing Dmitry Rogozin in this position. Before becoming the head of the space agency, he served as deputy prime minister for technological and defense industries issues, and previously held the position of deputy minister of defense.
