The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, expressed today, Friday, his willingness to meet with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to discuss various issues of interest for Moscow and Washington, including Ukraine. Putin stated that he would consider a meeting to calmly address matters relevant to both countries, citing the current global situation.

In an interview with Russian state television, Putin emphasized the importance of dialogue on matters of mutual interest and expressed his willingness to work jointly with the U.S. administration. The Russian president mentioned the possibility of finding several points of agreement with the new U.S. Government on both strategic stability and economic issues.

Moreover, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Putin is prepared to have a phone conversation with Trump before a possible face-to-face meeting. Regarding the possibility of a phone call between the two leaders this weekend, Peskov mentioned that Putin is ready to initiate dialogue and is waiting for signals from Washington.

Peskov also highlighted Russia's openness to work together with the Trump administration to seek solutions to currently relevant issues, underscoring the possibility of finding points of agreement on various key matters.
