A tragic accident occurred in the Russian village of Vasilievo, resulting in the death of a 21-day-old infant. According to local authorities, the child was thrown from a fourth-floor window, 12 meters high, by his 5-year-old sister. The incident happened when the two children were left home alone by their mother, while their father was at work. A passerby reported hearing the young girl's screams from the apartment window before the infant was found dead on the ground. Witnesses described the scene as shocking, stating that their «knees buckled» at the sight. Emergency services confirmed the baby's death at the scene, the Mirror newspaper reported. The Russian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case. Authorities noted that the mother could face criminal charges, and investigators are looking into whether the little girl's actions were motivated by «jealousy» over the newborn. The investigation also covers the reasons for leaving the children unattended and any other factors that may have contributed to the tragedy. Mikhail Afanasyev, head of the Zelenodolsky district, stated: «The incident is currently being investigated by law enforcement. I offer my condolences to the deceased's family and urge all parents to exercise caution and not leave their children alone under any circumstances».
