New electric vehicle (EV) sales in Russia saw a significant year-on-year increase of 57% in November, marking the second consecutive month of growth in the sector, according to a report from Russian automotive analytics agency Autostat on Monday. Total EV sales volume reached 1,602 units last month, learned the Argentine News Agency. Russian dominance and Chinese advance The market growth in November was led by domestic brands. In second place was another Russian brand, Evolute, which sold 222 units. Among the top five brands that drove the market in November were also the Chinese Zeekr, Xiaomi, and BYD, reflecting the growing penetration of Asian manufacturers into the new energy vehicle sector in Russia. Annual balance Despite the strong performance in the last two months, the cumulative annual balance shows a contraction in the electric vehicle market.
