Russia on Thursday said it had repelled a missile attack on the Volgograd region in the south of the country. The regional governor, Andrei Bocharov, said on the Telegram app that air defense units of the Russian Defense Ministry had repelled a missile attack on the Volgograd area. He added that falling debris had caused a fire at a Defense Ministry facility near the village of Kotloban, without giving more details about the facility. To ensure the safety of civilians from the danger of explosions during the firefighting operation, an evacuation of the neighboring village of Kotloban has been announced and is being carried out.
