Moscow, December 22. Russian Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov died today in a car explosion in Moscow, the Russian Investigative Committee reported. According to the committee, an explosive device was placed under a car and detonated on Monday morning on Yasenevaya Street in southern Moscow. Sarvarov was the head of the Operational Training Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia and died from his injuries, Xinhua news agency reported. An investigation into the assassination has been launched, and authorities are examining multiple possible motives, including the alleged involvement of Ukrainian special services. "The epicenter of the explosion was under the car's chassis. Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov, wounded, died in an ambulance on the way to the hospital," the statement said.
