Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping today signed two declarations on global strategic stability and strengthening their bilateral relations in the Malachite Room of the Kremlin. Additionally, a new agreement to promote and protect investments was signed.

Putin emphasized the importance of Russia and China having coinciding or very close positions on almost all international issues, such as the fight against the rehabilitation of Nazism and militarism. He highlighted that both countries maintain an independent and autonomous foreign policy, seeking to establish a fairer and more democratic multipolar order.

The Russian leader mentioned that relations between Russia and China are at their best point in history and that the trade exchange system between the two nations ensures their protection from the influence of third countries. Putin also assured that the gas consortium Gazprom meets the needs of the Chinese economy, despite gas demand exceeding contractual volumes.

For his part, Xi Jinping advocated for strengthening strategic and political cooperation between Russia and China, both bilaterally and in international organizations such as the UN and the BRICS Group. He stressed the importance of defending multilateralism as a response to unilateral measures and the use of force.

The leaders agreed on the importance of maintaining global strategic stability and strengthening their bilateral ties, demonstrating the solid alliance between both countries. The signing of these agreements reflects the shared commitment of Russia and China to work together in various areas to promote their common interests and international cooperation.
