The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, stated on Friday that the crisis in Ukraine in 2022 could have been avoided if Donald Trump had been the President of the USA at that time. Putin expressed readiness for negotiations with the current leader and emphasized that they are ready to negotiate on Ukraine. "I won't go into details, but I will say that the current president is ready to work together," noted Putin. The Kremlin announced on Friday that the Russian leader is "ready" to meet Trump. "We have always talked, and I want to reiterate that we are ready for negotiations on the issue of Ukraine," added Putin.
Putin praised Trump's "pragmatism" and "intellect," noting that the latter had been reducing oil prices, since an analogous decision would have affected the USA. "Smart and pragmatic," emphasized the Russian leader.
After the President of the USA invited him to an immediate meeting, Moscow and Washington have not yet outlined a specific timeline for the upcoming event.
