Ukrainian military intelligence revealed that North Korea has sent troops in support of Russia in the conflict against Ukraine. So far, about 50 meters of toilet paper and 300 grams of soap are provided monthly to each deployed North Korean soldier, according to established standards.
According to the GUR, several days have been allocated for the coordination of the North Korean army in Russia, which would be used by Russia in the war against Ukraine. The United States has expressed concern considering that the deployment of these forces reflects Putin's desperation in not achieving his military objectives in Ukraine. The Pentagon's deputy spokesperson mentioned in a conference that Putin has resorted to possible support from North Korea to advance in the conflict.
The entry of North Korean soldiers into the Russian region of Kursk, bordering Ukraine, has been confirmed by Ukrainian military intelligence. Currently, it is estimated that there are about 12,000 North Korean military personnel in Russia, including 500 officers and three generals, distributed across five military training camps supervised by a high-ranking Russian official.
The Pentagon spokesperson emphasized that North Korea's participation in combat operations in Ukraine would be destabilizing for the Indo-Pacific. Furthermore, she pointed out that the deployment of the troops highlights the success of the United States in arming and supporting Ukraine in the conflict. She also confirmed that North Korean soldiers receive basic supplies such as ammunition, bedding, winter clothing, and hygiene items.
