The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, proposed to establish a security zone along the Russian state border and demanded the total expulsion of enemy forces from the Kursk region. During his visit to a military command center overseeing operations in the area, Putin emphasized the importance of creating this zone and achieving the complete defeat of the enemy in Kursk to ensure its total liberation.
In his statements, Putin noted: "Of course, we must think about the future and create a security zone along the state border." He also stressed that captured enemy soldiers in the Kursk region should be treated as terrorists according to the laws of the Russian Federation, highlighting the seriousness with which the conflict in the area is being addressed.
According to a report from the Russian Chief of Staff, Valery Gerasimov, presented during Putin's visit, Russian forces have managed to reclaim more than 1,100 square kilometers of territory in the Kursk region. This figure represents more than 86 percent of the area that was previously occupied by opposing forces, indicating significant progress in military operations in the region.
