Russian court orders man to stop calling himself Jesus Christ.
On Wednesday, a court in the Russian city of Kazan demanded that a citizen revert to his birth name in official documents.
«The Novo-Savinovsky District Court of Kazan ordered the civil registry office to restore the original name of a Kazan resident named Jesus Christ,» the ruling says, as quoted by the Bisness Online portal.
According to the media, the court's decision was made at the request of the local prosecutor's office.
Last year, a Kazan court fined this Russian citizen, whose real name is Yevgeny Chekulaev, 60,000 rubles (about $780) for fraudulently registering several foreigners at his address.
Later, the court sentenced the same citizen to two years in prison, suspended, for a similar crime.
