The hiking in Ukraine has resulted in the death of two women and a man. This was reported on Thursday by the governor of the Russian region of Belgorod, which borders Ukraine, Vyacheslav Gladkov.
According to him, the attack occurred in a settlement in the border area. The man and women died from received injuries. An investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances of the incident and identify the perpetrators.
"We are all working hard to clarify the situation. Human rights organizations are conducting verification on-site," Gladkov emphasized.
The governor also noted that consultations are being conducted with representatives of Ukraine to resolve the incident and prevent similar situations in the future.
"We hope for constructive interaction with the Ukrainian side and the involvement of responsible parties," he added.
