Russian officials said on Sunday that a Russian citizen of Ukrainian origin was handed over to Moscow from Dubai on suspicion of causing serious injuries to Alexeyev. Russia's Interfax news agency reported on Monday, citing the FSB, that the assassination attempt on Deputy Chief of the General Staff, General Vladimir Alexeyev, was carried out on the orders of Ukrainian intelligence services. The FSB also added that Polish intelligence was involved in recruiting the shooter.
