Russia urged the United States government not to make a 'fatal error' regarding Venezuela and warned of possible consequences for the Western Hemisphere, according to the Argentine News Agency.
In a statement issued by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Moscow called on Washington to 'refrain from further aggravating the situation', noting that any misstep could trigger unpredictable effects for the entire region.
The ministry also reiterated its support for the government of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and emphasized the importance of defending national sovereignty and keeping Latin America as 'a zone of peace'.
