The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has stated that it thwarted a large-scale provocation planned by Ukrainian and British agents. The plot was to recruit Russian pilots to hijack a MiG-31 fighter jet armed with a hypersonic 'Kinzhal' missile in exchange for three million dollars. According to the plan, the hijacked aircraft was supposed to fly towards a NATO military base in the Romanian city of Constanța, where it could have been shot down by air defenses. This was reported by Russian state media.
