The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep concern over military clashes between India and Pakistan. "We invoke the parties to adhere to the obligations enshrined in the line of contact,” states the Russian MFA statement.
An official representative of the Russian MFA also emphasized that Moscow calls on New Delhi and Islamabad to comply with the obligations they assumed under the decisions of the Geneva Convention of 1949 and the Declaration on Principles of International Law concerning Friendly Relations and Cooperation between Russia and India in 1993.
"We are confident in the necessity of finding a peaceful solution to all problems and disagreements through direct dialogue," noted the representative of the Russian foreign ministry.
