On Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia announced that it has opened the doors to its military base in Khmeimim, located in Syria.
Speaking about the goals of this initiative, the ministry noted that it allows to avoid unauthorized access and mitigate the impact of the airspace of the base on the local population.
Moreover, representatives of the Russian ministry stated that they are providing significant assistance to the residents of the area, ensuring them with food supplies, medical assistance, and first-necessity goods.
"We will continue to make every effort to improve the quality of life of the local population and ensure the safety of the area," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized.
