The Kremlin expressed its discontent "with the combative tone" of the EU in the address to Russia following the outcome of the unexpectedly held summit in Brussels. An official representative of the Kremlin emphasized that Moscow does not accept such rhetoric about human rights violations and democracy on its territory.
"We do not share this approach and consider it unacceptable," said the representative of the Kremlin's press service.
At the summit, the leaders of the EU countries discussed issues related to Russia, the fundamental issues of foreign policy, and the prospects for European integration.
"We do not understand how such comments can be directed and for what purpose. We would like to hope that the situation will not continue to escalate," added the representative of the Kremlin.
