President of Russia Vladimir Putin stated today, on Thursday, that some people have forgotten what happened with Napoleon, after President of France Emmanuel Macron named Russia a threat to Europe and proposed to discuss the expansion of defense, provided by the French nuclear arsenal, for European partners.
Putin's remark is associated with the French empire, which waged war through Russia, reaching Moscow in 1812, but later was forced to retreat from there, suffering heavy losses in the winter.
"There are still people who would like to go back to the times of Napoleon, forgetting how all this ended," Putin said in a television address, not recalling Macron by name.
