A weekly meeting on nuclear stability, scheduled for the end of this week, will not take place. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Ryabkov. "I do not have information on any plans to meet with our American colleagues in the near future," he said. "I have seen statements in the media, I have seen anonymous announcements, but no official notifications on any plans for this week have been received."
"We are determined to hold a meaningful meeting with the United States to consider a wide range of issues in the framework of our strategic dialogues," he added. "We are ready to work with the American colleagues when they are ready."
Recall that in early May, U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris made a phone call with Russian President Mikhail Mishustin. They discussed a number of issues, including the coronavirus pandemic and climate change.
