The Kremlin stated today, on Sunday, about the importance of the telephone conversation between the presidents of Russia and the USA. Four and a half months after Joe Biden's inauguration, Vladimir Putin and Joseph Biden held their first telephone conversation. According to Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, the heads of state exchanged opinions on several not insignificant "current topics of the day." During the conversation, issues related to the START-3 nuclear treaty, stabilization problems, and control over strategic stability were discussed. Dmitry Peskov also noted that the presidents discussed the situation in Ukraine, where, according to the USA and Ukraine, provocations with the participation of Russian armed forces took place. "Putin emphasized the necessity of adopting measures to prevent a possible new round of military escalation on the outskirts of Ukraine," Peskov said.
