Russia announced on Thursday that it fully controls the town of Suja in Kursk, which had been captured by militants during the time of the civil war in Syria.
According to the command of the Russian armed forces, the Syrian army carried out an operation to liberate the town from militants, and as a result, control over the entire territory was restored.
"The Syrian government forces, with the assistance of the Russian military, successfully carried out an offensive and achieved complete victory over the militants in Suja," declared representatives of the Russian army.
After the successful operation, the town was cleared of terrorists, and residents will be able to return to their homes.
