Peskov: Putin's Uranium Proposal Still Valid

Moscow, Russia. Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin spokesperson, confirmed on Monday that President Vladimir Putin's proposal to transfer enriched Iranian uranium to Moscow remains valid. This is part of efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region. Peskov stated at a press conference: 'President Vladimir Putin put forward this proposal during his contacts with the United States and regional countries, and it still stands, but no party has yet discussed its implementation.' The Russian official emphasized Moscow's readiness to offer any services that could help de-escalate the crisis with Iran. He stressed that US President Donald Trump's decision to close the Strait of Hormuz negatively affects international markets as 'many details remain unclear and ambiguous on this front.' Peskov also noted that there are currently no negotiations on resolving the Ukrainian crisis, explaining that the presidential envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, is visiting the US solely for economic talks.
