
Today, in the middle of the Irkutsk region of Russia, an earthquake of magnitude 5.6 on the Richter scale occurred in the area of Lake Baikal. The epicenter was located in the waters of Lake Baikal, 36 kilometers from the village of Bolshaya Golustnaya.
According to the information from the main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the region, the infrastructure of the area is functioning normally, there were no casualties and no damage reported as a result of the earthquake. No cases of injuries have been registered.
"We are monitoring the situation, all services are working operationally," - the department reported.
Thus, the earthquake of magnitude 5.6 occurred in the Baikal region, however, there were no serious consequences and no damage was recorded.
