During the night attack on Ukrainian forces, the use of helicopters in southern Russia led to a fire at an oil refining plant, local authorities reported on Monday. The governor of the Astrakhan region in southern Russia, Igor Babushkin, stated that employees of the "Toplivo i Energiya" complex had been evacuated due to the attack, which resulted in a large-scale fire.
"One person was injured during the attack and was taken to the hospital," local authorities confirmed to the media. This is the latest attack in a series of aviation strikes on energy facilities from both the Ukrainian and Russian sides.
Prior to this, Ukrainian armed forces attacked the oil refining plant on the territory of Astrakhan. Strategically significant energy facilities on both sides once again became targets for military action.
